June 18, 2016: The beginning

I have been making a drawing a day for almost 11 years, and today I decided to start a daily drawing blog.

History:

I started daily drawings in 2004 and the exercise didn't last long. There were days when doing a drawing was just impossible.

Then, on July 1st, 2005, while on summer vacation, I made new rules. Since then, I have done 365 drawings a year.

Rules:

All drawings are done in a 6" x 6" spiral sketchbook
Every drawing includes the date stamp
If I miss a day, I can stamp and do two the following day,
365 days are completed every year

This new rule, allowing me to make up missed days, insures continuation. And the stamp, which marks time, makes all the difference.
