July 17, 2016 Filling in the Gaps
On July 17th I flew to Iceland and have been traveling the ring road for 2 weeks. While I kept up with the daily drawings, the blog entries had to wait until I was settled in Skagastrond at the NES Artists Residency. Here are the drawings:

June 18, 2016: The beginning
I have been making a drawing a day for almost 11 years, and today I decided to start a daily drawing blog.
History:
I started daily drawings in 2004 and the exercise didn't last long. There were days when doing a drawing was just impossible.
Then, on July 1st, 2005, while on summer vacation, I made new rules. Since then, I have done 365 drawings a year.

Valentine Lake, Eastern Sierra's John Muir Wilderness
Rules:
All drawings are done in a 6" x 6" spiral sketchbook
Every drawing includes the date stamp
If I miss a day, I can stamp and do two the following day,
365 days are completed every year
This new rule, allowing me to make up missed days, insures continuation. And the stamp, which marks time, makes all the difference.
Tools:
I use a variety of pens and pencils:
Watercolors:

Watercolor Cup from Reykjavik:

Stamp and Ink pad:

Sketchbook:

Studio Layout:

Now that the stage is set, here is today's drawing:
